Developing Skilled Workforce in India

The 21st century has seen India fast emerging as an upcoming global power. This second most populated country can mobilise its human resource to boost up the development rate. However, the skilled workforce in India is not an impressive figure, which has hindered the growth of the country. This has paved way for national skill development courses in India.

National skill development or skill building can be gauged as an effective tool of empowering an individual and taking the growth rate of the country to a higher trajectory. To impart these skill developing courses throughout the country, the government has launched three tier institutional structure which includes PM’s National Council, National Skill Development Coordination Board and National Skill Development Corporation. The three tier structure has identified skill gaps in 20 high-growth sectors and is working towards development of efficient and skilled labour force.

Similarly, apart from developing skills, providing guideline to students is also crucial. Owing to this, many education consultants have mushroomed in India. Education consultancy is not only limited to giving guidance to students regarding the course of study but also helping them to make better career decisions. Besides, with the increasing demand of higher education in foreign shores, their roles have metamorphosed from secondary to primary. In the contemporary scenario, education consultants in India provide information about education institution, city or country to study in, admission process and other details. Thus, national skill development and education consultants are both working to build an efficient and competent workforce in India.
